Thank you for your support and cooperation. Last year INFORM2000
was small but successful. This year, instead of a one-day event,
INFORM2001 will be a two-day event. More time, more publications, and more
pre-event publicity to stimulate your interest. If you are interested
in INFORM2001, want to participate by exhibiting your publications or other
relevant products/services, or have other ideas as to activities
that might be held with inform, tell us now
. And, do plan to attend. Register early.
INFORM is held eacch year because thousands of publications
are published in English in Japan but they are nearly always hard to find,
especially when you don't know where to look. English publications are
in fewer than 5% of the bookstores. What there are tend to be mostly ELT
(English Language Teaching). Fine for students but not for your reading
or reference. With some effort and imagination many useful publications
can be found at small publishers, at government or association offices,
at embassies and libraries, some free, a few very expensive. Sometimes
very good, sometimes poorly done, these books, magazines, papers and reports
contain valuable information , perhaps the information that
you need now. The annual INFORM helps you find these publications
that can add to your success and pleasure and INFORM helps the publishers
find you. Ranging from general information, to specialized business, technical
and government publications, INFORM2001 includes hundreds
of new publications and online internet resources. Also a selection
of publications on Japan and Asia that are published by important publishers
in the USA and Europe, plus the always popular full range of travel
guides from Lonely Planet and other publishers. INFORM2001
will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on the 8th floor of the Kuritsu
Taito Kumin Kaikan, 2-6-5 Hanakawato, Taitoku, Tokyo, on Umamichi Dori.

meters up the street from the subway station, on the same side
of the street as the Matsuya Department Store, near Sensoji

INFORM2001 is a table-top exhibition where you
can come, see, touch, even sit and read the publications or take notes.
There is lots of space and chairs. Take home what you want ... some freebies,
other publications ranging from a nominal Yen 10 to Yen 100. Travel
guides, other books, and some current magazines will be sold at half the
regular price just at INFORM. Others can be ordered at a discount. But
buying is not what INFORM is all about. Here you can learn what exists
and search out interesting titles and useful publishers. For a list of
titles displayed at past INFORMs see our website. The tables displays will
be grouped roughly as follows:
