Books from
Hokuseido

THE
HOKUSEIDO PRESS, established in 1914, is one of Japan's oldest
publishers of English
books. Today it also publishes many middle and advanced textbooks to
help Japanese students learn English, but here at kk imcbook we
focus on offering Hokuseido's
famous books by R. H. Blyth on
haiku poetry, zen and buddhism. R H Blyth was born in Essex, England
and emigrated to Japan where he became Professor of English Literature
and tutor to Crown Prince (now Emperor) Akihito. See the end of this
sheet for further explanation and ordering/payment options.
pp=paperback, p=pages, mm=millimeters, g=grams. Price includes
consumption tax (shohizei). Shipping is extra.
Many of Blyth's books are no longer in stock but may be found
using the Google and Amazon links. Most of Blyth's books are now
considered "rare" and sell at a premium price, not the listed price.

ORDERING /
PAYING /
SHIPPING
If
you
are in Japan and want books mailed to you or sent by takkyubin.
Takkyubin is faster (one or two days) and safer but costs more (minimum
Yen 550 to Tokyo-Osaka regions; double that to distant regions). Postal
mail is slower (two to four days) and costs less (Yen 350 anywhere in
Japan). These rates are for a single book. Several books shipped
together will cost less per book. Fax your order to 047-434-1592
or email to kunikoi[at]attglobal.net. We will reply with a firm quote
including tax/shipping. Pay and the books will be shipped to you. We do
not ship COD. We can accept many types of Yen payment including checks
(Tokyo area), bank transfer (all major Japanese banks), and we
recommend postal transfer. We do not accept credit cards.
We accept PayPal and recommend it. You can pay via PayPal using your
credit card. Cash can be accepted only if sent in
the postal
registered cash envelope.
If
you
are outside Japan. Send us your order by fax to 81-47-434-1592
or by email to kunikoi@attglobal.net and we will reply with a firm
quotation in US$. Pay by check payable in the USA in US$, by PayPal.
Postal
transfers from overseas to our Japanese postal account are accepted;
but you must pay ALL fees.
Transfers from overseas to our Yen bank accounts are possible but very
expensive and not recommended. Shipment overseas is by SAL
(slow airmail)
unregistered mail, not insured. Almost always okay but sometimes slow.
Shipping by fast services (airmail, EMS, courier) is available but much
more expensive. Registered mail and insurance is extra if required.
If
your's
is a special situation, tell us and we will try to accommodate
your payment/shipping situation.
