At IMC in Tokyo, a major means of communication with
authors, publishers, distributors, those in Japan and those in every
corner of the earth, is by email. Call it spam, unsolicited commercial
email, or whatever nasty name you can think up. But, the speed of email
makes it hundreds of times faster than airmail letter, fax, or any
other option. But, and it is a "BIG" but, most email gets trashed by a
whole range of spam/virus filters on the host computer, the network and
the local computer. In my own inbox, 90% of the mail is junk. 90% of
the remaining 10% is stuff I am happy to look at but have no intention
of doing more than glancing at and then trashing.
In short, we want to be sure that you will at least
glance at email messages and announcements that we send you. So, we ask
that you sign up for a mailing list. We don't know what you want. Thus,
we ask you to tell us your wants. The options now divide roughly as
follows:

There are many books that we can announce but we try
to be helpful but not a nuisance; so, we need some idea of your
interests (likes and dislikes) in order to make good lists and be both
efficient and helpful. The above table is imperfect but will give you
some idea of the info that we need or would like to receive. Just
email us at the address below.
Tell us a little about yourself/organization; tell us your interests,
and we will add you to the most appropriate email announcement list.
