About 1970 a major international advertising
conference was held in Tokyo. For the conference we published a small booklet
listing the English magazines, journals and annuals published in Japan
at that time We put a $1 price on the booklet and to our amazement it sold
well. That is how the JPGS was born. Since then we have published various
directories (Japan Directory of Professional Associations, Japan English
Publishers, Japan English Magazine Directory, Japan English Books in Print,
Japan English Publications in Print, East/Southeast Asia English Publications
in Print) and two newsletters (Computer Tokyo, and JPG Letter). All of these
on paper and all now discontinued or aging.
JPGS is now focusing on the Internet and on other
electronic products .... all produced from the same basic database. The
focus is on making it possible for our friends and customers who function
mainly using English to easily contact publishers and other information
providers in Japan and throughout East Asia. We now offer the following
and will be adding more JPGS products in the future.
JPGS eNews - Free email
newsletter announcing new English books, magazines and other print and
online info products published in/on/for Japan/East Asia. This email newsletter
is sent to subscribers (free) about twice per month. To subscribe send
an
email.
If you later want to unsubscribe, just Return with the word Delete in the
Subject line. We need some simple info from you to subscribe you, but we
keep only your email address. Your subscriber email address is not used
by us on any other mailing lists and is never made available to any outside
person or company. If your email address becomes undeliverable for any reason,

JPG Letter - Regular JPGS
users will be familiar with the monthly
JPG Letter (4-page newsletter)
that we published for many years. Starting 2003 we are now supplying this
information as a monthly EMAIL NEWSLETTER. The
JPG Letter lists NEW
BOOKS and magazines and related. The focus is on publications that can be
purchased plus some other current awareness information. The typical subscriber
could be a librarian who regularly buys publications for a collection on
Japan and East Asia.
NOTE: We do not sell the publications listed.
You should order listed publications from your regular supplier or directly
from the publisher. We will assist only when your regular source cannot help
you and when the publisher cannot help. All subscriptions begin from
"next issue". Back issues will not be available. A link to publisher contact
info is supplied with each title listing.

data may not be sold or used in any product for sale. We reserve the right

Publishers of English in Japan (PEJ)
- CD-ROM. The CD contains, in one HTML file, the names of over 5,500 commercial,
non-profit, government and other organizations that publish in English
in Japan any type of book, magazine, journal, annual, directory, report,
paper, brochure, etc. Open the file in your Internet browser. Click on
an organization name and you will be taken to our online page for that
organization. Each organization has its own online page. The typical online
page contains: Organization name, Mailing address, Telephone, Facsimile,
Email address, Web URL, and a list of English publications that have been
published by the organization. Will try to assist you in contacting
the organization if the contact information we supply produces only an undeliverable
address.
Subscription Price (2003): PEJ consists of one CD
plus one update in September. Personal single user: $60.00. Multi-user
at one organization at one site: $120.00. Multi-user government or organization:
$240.00.
PEJ data is supplied for use by students and researchers.
PEJ may not be sold or used in any product for sale. We reserve the
